Google Workspace is the default for a reason: Docs, Drive, Meet and Calendar in one subscription, and a BAA available on paid plans. We are not trying to replace that. Here is where we are actually the better call.
Choose Google Workspace if you need the office suite. Docs, Sheets, Drive and Meet are the product; email is one part of it. Nothing here replaces that, and if your team already lives in Google Docs, the switching cost is the whole argument. They also make a BAA available on paid plans at no extra charge, which we do not offer at all.
Choose WS Mail if you need email and not an office suite, if a per-seat subscription for every part-time or reception account is hard to justify, or if verified sender identity matters more to your clients than another word processor.
| Dimension | WS Mail | Google Workspace |
|---|---|---|
| Office suite | Mail, calendar, tasks and notes | Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet — best in class |
| Signed BAA | Not offered | Available on paid plans via the admin console |
| Ecosystem and integrations | IMAP, SMTP, OIDC sign-in | Very large third-party ecosystem |
| Free tier on your own domain | Two mailboxes on your domain, no expiry | Trial only; free Gmail is not domain email |
| Verified sender identity | Credential-checked badge, public verification page | Not offered |
| Cost per seat | Free tier, then low single-digit per user | Paid per user from the entry plan upward |
| Shared inboxes | Free @wshealthmail.com inboxes on every tier | Groups, counted against your plan |
Most "vs Google Workspace" pages pretend the office suite does not exist. It does, it is excellent, and for a great many businesses that settles it. We are not going to argue otherwise.
The case for us is narrower and real. A practice with three clinicians, a receptionist, a billing contact and two shared addresses is paying for seven seats of a document suite it may barely use. Our free @wshealthmail.com inboxes cover the shared addresses at no cost on every tier, and per-user pricing applies only to mailboxes on your own domain.
The other case is identity. Google will authenticate that a message came from your domain. It will not tell your patient that the person behind the address is a licensed clinician whose credential was checked. That is the thing we built.

Not if your team depends on Docs, Sheets, Drive and Meet — that suite is the product and we do not replace it. The switch makes sense when you are paying per seat for people who use only email, or when verified sender identity matters more to your clients than a document suite.
No. Free Gmail is a consumer address on gmail.com, not email on a domain you own; custom-domain mail requires a paid Workspace plan after the trial. Our free tier includes two mailboxes on a domain you own with no expiry.
Yes, and some practices do — Workspace for internal collaboration, and a verified WS Mail address for outward-facing patient or client contact. Standard DNS records let a domain route mail to one provider while other services stay where they are.
The free tier has no expiry and no card, so evaluating us costs nothing but the signup.
