SendGrid is built for companies whose email volume is a line item of its own. Most small teams and practices send far less: receipts, reminders, sign-in links. For that, an API that lives next to your mailboxes and takes one request to use is usually the better trade.

Not today. Traffic is separated into shared pools by stream and sender history, which protects established senders from new ones, but a single customer cannot rent its own IP yet.
