Comparison

WS Mail vs Hushmail

Hushmail pairs encrypted email with secure intake forms and e-signatures for small healthcare practices, and signs a BAA. We are cheaper to start on and focus on verified identity. Here is the honest split.

Start with where they win

Choose Hushmail if you need a BAA or client intake forms. They sign a BAA at signup, and their encrypted web forms with e-signatures are a genuinely well-built part of the product that we do not offer an equivalent of. For a therapy practice collecting intake paperwork, that combination is hard to beat and worth paying for.

Choose WS Mail if cost is the blocker — their healthcare plans start in the region of a low double-digit monthly fee for a solo practitioner, where our free tier is genuinely free — or if you want IMAP access and a verified identity your clients can check independently.

Where the money goes

Hushmail's healthcare pricing reflects what is bundled: the BAA, the archiving, and the forms and e-signature tooling. If you use those, it is reasonable value. If you only wanted encrypted mail on your own domain, you are paying for a forms product you will not open.

That is the split. We are not a cheaper Hushmail — we do not have their forms, and we do not offer a BAA. We are a different shape: a full mail platform with a free tier, real IMAP access, and identity verification as the differentiator rather than encryption.

A practice that needs intake forms and a BAA should buy Hushmail. A practice that already has an EHR handling intake, and wants a credible email address clients can verify, is our case.

Common questions

Is WS Mail cheaper than Hushmail?+

Yes, at the entry point — our free tier has no expiry and no card, where Hushmail’s healthcare plans are paid after a trial. But the comparison is not like for like: their pricing includes a signed BAA, email archiving, and encrypted intake forms with e-signatures. If you use those, you are not overpaying.

Does WS Mail have secure intake forms?+

No. We do not offer an equivalent to Hushmail’s encrypted web forms or e-signature tooling. If collecting intake paperwork by secure form is central to your practice, that is a strong reason to choose them.

Can I use Outlook or Apple Mail with WS Mail?+

Yes — IMAP, POP and SMTP are available from the Starter tier, so any standard mail client connects normally.
